I am Leonardo Manzano, although my friends call me Leo. I can proudly say that I was born and raised in San Juan, Argentina, a land of wine and mates (Argentinian tee).

When I was a child, despite being very happy, there were moments that seemed to last forever, and those moments were the much-feared school hours. While the teachers were explaining syllabuses that I would not deign to remember, I spent my classes wishing for Physical Education time, which was set on fire in the schedule.

At first, exercising was a child's thing, until as the years went by, I began to realize that it could bring real meaning to my life. Normally in my experience, when a child came home with dreams about being a sportsman or a fireman, their environment, did not give importance to those desires, wishing that the child decided to study what they believed would be a "good profession", such as a lawyer, a doctor...

However, my case was different. Being grateful every day for it, I grew up in an environment that valued, above all things, effort and perseverance. At home, I was always reminded that with both, you could achieve anything.

Thanks to my family that always supported me, I began to practice different sports, in which I would discover, without realizing it, what would end up being the three great passions of my life: TRAVELLING, FRIENDSHIPS AND, ABOVE ALL, PHYSICAL EXERCISE.

Grateful for those values that were instilled into me, I always tried to develop, being able to seize opportunities that otherwise would have been denied to me, such as having the possibility of attending a tennis tournament in Buenos Aires as a child, with an illusion of what this meant for a 10-year-old boy.

It would not be much longer, until I made the decision to make MY PASSION, MY PROFESSIONAL LIFE. That's how I decided to study Sports Science. Classes were never boring again and I felt a great joy and a great desire to conquer the world. That is why, while I was training, I had the opportunity to open my borders for the first time, even if it was only for a short time, living in Brazil and the United States. However, although I did not spend much time there, apart from gaining incredible experiences and human relationships, I went back to Argentina, having understood that by educating the mind, great things can be achieved. That's how an idea came up inside me. I wanted to go to Europe.

Without hesitating or planning it too much, I took the impulse and flew to Germany, to find myself lost in Cologne, arriving with a suitcase and a single contact. As soon as I landed, thanks to that phone number, behind which was hidden a perfect stranger, I found my greatest support. However, sometimes nothing is as idyllic as it seems. Cultural barriers and a poor command of the language made it very difficult for me at first to find a job that would allow me to settle down, and after two months I even wondered if I was on the right track.

After a sea of doubts, a conversation around a coffee store was enough to remind me of the perseverance and effort that I had been taught at home. With my mind completely renewed, I was able, by not stopping to try to get my current job in Düsseldorf, which incredibly aligned with what I was looking for, my life's passion. To my surprise, I wasn’t only going to practice my profession, but I was also going to travel around Europe, obtaining from it, the chance to live again my three great passions: TRAVEL, SPORT, AND FRIENDSHIP.

Looking back, I think, I can consider myself very lucky for all that I have achieved in my life, realizing that, in the process, I have created a lifestyle that fills me up and brings me HAPPINESS. I believe that I have achieved all this by focusing on working on myself, but now, looking around me, I have a growing desire to pass on my experience to all those people that I can serve, even if it is only a little, to improve their lives.

I feel, from my heart, an honest and humble desire to transmit my joy to whoever wants to receive it. Perhaps my goal is somewhat complicated, but I know that if my particular path has taught me anything; it is that nothing is impossible if you put effort and perseverance, into it is a simple matter of ATTITUDE. That is why, from now on, my dream is to be able to continue writing, to reach all of you.

Origen y Destino

Soy Leonardo Manzano, aunque mis amigos me llaman Leo. Con orgullo, puedo decir que nací y crecí en San Juan, Argentina, tierra de vinos y mates.

De niño, a pesar de ser muy feliz, habían momentos que se me hacían muy eternos, y esos momentos, eran las, tan temidas, horas de escuela. Mientras los profesores explicaban temarios que no me dignaría a recordar, me pasaba las clases deseando a que llegara la hora de Educación Física, marcada a fuego en el horario.

Al principio, hacer ejercicio era cosa de niños, hasta que con el pasar de los años, empecé a darme cuenta de que ello podría traer un significado real a mi vida. Normalmente en mi experiencia, cuando un niño llegaba a casa con sueños acerca de ser deportista o bombero, su ambiente, no le daba importancia a esos anhelos, deseando que el niño decidiera estudiar lo que ellos creían que sería una “profesión de bien”, como por ejemplo, abogado, médico…

Sin embargo, mi caso fue distinto. Agradeciendo todos los días por ello, me crié en un entorno que valoraba, por encima de todas las cosas, el esfuerzo y la perseverancia. En mi casa, siempre me recordaban que, con ambas, se puede conseguir cualquier cosa.

Gracias a ese apoyo que siempre me dio mi familia, empecé a formar parte de distintos clubes deportivos, en ellos descubriría, sin darme cuenta, las que acabarían siendo las tres grandes pasiones de mi vida: VIAJAR, LAS AMISTADES Y, SOBRE TODO, EL EJERCICIO FÍSICO.

Gracias a aquellos valores que me inculcaron, siempre traté de superarme a mí mismo, pudiendo de esta forma acceder a oportunidades que, de cualquier otra manera, me hubieran estado vetadas, como por ejemplo, haber tenido la posibilidad de poder asistir a un torneo de tenis en Buenos Aires de chico, con la ilusión que eso supuso para un niño de 10 años.

Ya no pasaría mucho más tiempo, hasta que tomara la decisión de hacer de aquello que amaba, mi vida profesional. Fue así, como decidí estudiar Ciencias del deporte. Las clases no volvieron a ser aburridas nunca más y, sentía en mí una alegría y unas ganas inmensas de comerme el mundo. Por ello, mientras me formaba, tuve la ocasión de abrir mis fronteras por primera vez, aunque fuera por cortas temporadas de tiempo, viviendo en Brasil y Los Estados Unidos. Sin embargo, aunque no pasé mucho tiempo allí, aparte de dejar atrás increíbles experiencias y relaciones humanas, me llevé devuelta a Argentina, la percepción de que educando a la mente se pueden conseguir grandes cosas. Fue así, como una idea surgió dentro de mí; quería ir a Europa.

Sin pensarlo ni planearlo demasiado, tomé impulso y volé camino a tierras germanas para encontrarme perdido en Colonia, llegando con una maleta y un único contacto. Increíblemente, nada más aterrizar, gracias a ese número de teléfono, tras el que se escondía un perfecto desconocido, encontré a mi mayor apoyo. Sin embargo, en ocasiones, nada es tan idílico como parece. Las barreras culturales y un pobre dominio del idioma, provocaron que, al principio, me resultara muy difícil encontrar un trabajo que me permitiera establecerme, llegando a plantearme a los dos meses, si estaría siguiendo el camino correcto.

Hecho un mar de dudas, una conversación alrededor de un café, bastó para que recordara la perseverancia y el esfuerzo que se me había enseñado en casa. Con mi mente completamente renovada, pude, a base de no dejar de intentarlo, conseguir en Düsseldorf, mi trabajo actual, que increíblemente se alineó con lo que andaba buscando, la pasión de mi vida. Para mi sorpresa, no solamente iba a ejercer mi profesión, sino que, además, lo iba a hacer viajando alrededor de Europa, consiguiendo con ello, volver a vivir mis tres grandes pasiones: VIAJAR, DEPORTE, Y AMISTAD.

Echando la vista atrás, creo poder considerarme muy afortunado por todo lo que he conseguido en mi vida, dándome cuenta que, durante el proceso, me he creado un estilo de vida que me llena y me trae felicidad. Creo que todo ello, lo he conseguido enfocándome en trabajar en mí mismo, ahora, sin embargo, observando a mi alrededor, crece en mí un deseo de transmitir mi experiencia a toda aquella gente a la que le pueda servir, aunque sea solo un poco, para mejorar su vida.

Siento, de corazón, unas ganas honestas y humildes, de transmitir mi alegría a quien la quiera recibir. Quizá, mi meta sea algo complicada, pero, si algo me ha enseñado mi particular camino, es que nada es imposible si todo se hace con esfuerzo y perseverancia, es una simple cuestión de ACTITUD. Es por ello, que de ahora en adelante, mi sueño, es poder seguir escribiendo, para llegar a todos ustedes.
